Holi is the festival of colors and sweets. It brings along with itself the colors of joy, brotherhood, enjoyment and optimism. As it is one of the most ancient festivals in the country, there are thousands of legends associated with this festival. However, the most interesting of them is the Krishna- Radha’s love story. Another legend associated with Prahlada and Hirankashyapa reminds one of the victories of ‘Good over Evil’. On a whole, Holi reminds us of the fact that love and truth are two divine forces in the Universe. Several poets have expressed the naughtiness, the spirit and the gusto and the divine message of Holi in their poems. Here, we have given three of those beautiful Holi poetry, one in English and two in Hindi. Holi will be celebrated on 6th of March 2015. It is celebrated in all over the India irrespective of age and religion. On this occasion people uses to wish happy holi to their friends and relative.
The trees smile with their sprout
of tender leaves and blooming flowers,
Eternal nature with its transient expression.
Hails spring with ecstasy and joy!
Bewildering shades with so many tinge.
The land of beauty and greatness,
India, witnessing color of happiness and peace.
Nation come alive to enjoy the spirit
A celebration of color- Holi!
An experience of content, harmony and delight.
Holika burns amidst merriment and mirth.
Evil overpowered by love and devotion.
A festival to commemorate 'Ras Lila'-
an enduring love saga of Radha and Krishna.
Gulal - red, green, yellow and countless.
A day's canvas - a riot of colors.
Lively crowd running hither and thither,
Rainbow of colors, dashing from every nook and corner.
Disregarding their woe and despair fervent folks,
rejoicing at the marvel of colors.
Holi aaye holi aaye
Rang birangi holi aaye
Tarah tarah k rangoo se rangne
dekho phir se holi aaye ..
Har dukaan pe hai rangoo ka mela
Main to laal rang leke
tumare gaalon ko rang lagane chala…..
Ye tyohaar to hai aapas main
Dosti or Pyar badhane ka,
chalo sare gile sikwe dooe kar ke
ek dusre ko khub rang lagate hain.
milkar holi manate hain……
dosti or pyar ka rang na dhul payega
Yehi to aasli rang hai zindegi ke
Jitna ranglo utna gehera hota jayega…….
Lal, gulal, hara, nila
Holi to bas ek bahana hai rangoo ka
Holi ka rang to dhul jayega
Saade rang ko galti se aap naa kora samjho,
Isi mey samaaye indradhanushi saaton rang,
Jo dikhe aapko zindagi saadagi bhari kisi ki,
To aap yun samjho satrangi hai duniya usiki,
Holi aayi satrangi rango ki bouchar laayi,
Dher saari mithai aur mitha mitha pyar laayi,
Aap ki zindagi ho mithe pyar aur khusiyon se bhari,
Jisme samaaye saaton rang yahi shubhkamna hai hamaari.
